Production method
Ferulic acid can be obtained from plants in three ways: first, from the combination of ferulic acid with some small molecules, second, from the plant cell wall, and third, through tissue culture. Ferulic acid is mainly cross-linked with polysaccharide and lignin by ester bond or self-esterification or etherification to form diferulic acid. Ferulic acid is released by alkali method and enzyme method, and then extracted by suitable solvent.

2.Antioxidant function of ferulic acid
