Product Description
Houttuynia cordata extract is an extract made from dried Houttuynia cordata by solvent extraction. The extracted part is the whole grass, which is a fine brownish yellow powder, and the source is the dry aboveground part of the perennial herb Houttuynia cordata.
 

 

Chemical Composition
The above-ground part contains volatile oil and the active antibacterial ingredients decanoyl acetaldehyde, lauric aldehyde, a-pinene and linalool. The first two have a specific odor. Also contains methyl n-nonyl ketone, camphorene, myrcene, limonene, bornyl acetate, and syringene. Houttuynia cordata usually refers to the bisulfite adduct of acetaldehyde decanoate. It also contains afuside, hyperoside, rutin, chlorogenic acid, β-sitosterol, stearic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid. The leaves contain quercetin, and the flowers and fruit ears contain isoquercetin.

 

Pharmacological effects
