Myrrh Product chemical composition:

Myrrh tree contains resin 25 ~ 35%, volatile oil 2.5 ~ 9%, gum about 57 ~ 65%, in addition to water and various impurities about 3 ~ 4%.

Most of the resin is soluble in ether, the insoluble part contains α and β haboric acid, and the soluble part contains α, β and γ haboric acid, boborinic acid, α and β haborphenol. Still contain rare myrrh resin, myrrh terpene alcohol.

Volatile oils are easily resinized in the air, including eugenol, resorcinol, cumaldehyde, phycotene, dipentene, limonene, cinnamaldehyde, haborene and so on.

Myrrh Extract Efficacy:

This product mainly contains volatile oil, resin components, furan sesquiterpenoids and so on.

It has the effect of dispersing stasis and fixing pain, reducing swelling and generating muscle.

It is used for chest arthralgia, gastric epigastric pain, dysmenorrhea, postpartum stasis, abdominal abdominal pain, rheumatism arthralgia, trauma, abscess, swelling and sores.
 

Pharmacological function of product

The aqueous extract of myrrh (1:2) had various inhibitory effects on Trichophyton violae, Trichophyton concentric and Trichophyton Schellanii in test tubes. The antibacterial effect of myrrh may be related to eugenol.

The oleoresin part can reduce the blood cholesterol content of hypercholesterolemia (caused by hydrogenated vegetable oil) in male rabbits, prevent plaque formation, and reduce the body weight of domestic rabbits. Similar to other oleoresin-containing substances, myrrh (commonly used as a tincture) has some local stimulating effects and can be used in oral lotions or to stimulate intestinal motility in cases of gastrointestinal weakness.
